Daniel Mila and his family have participated in dozens of rides across Iowa. The popular RAGBRAI ride attracts tens of thousands of riders each year and was an annual tradition for Daniel’s grandfather and uncle. Daniel went on the ride several times, but thought he might never do so again after he was paralyzed in December 2022.
Little did he know that electric assist handcycling could help him complete the 406 mile long journey. After being introduced to electric assist handcycling at our handcycle by the ocean Santa Cruz event, Daniel became one of our Get 1 Help 2 participants. As part of the program we helped him find a sweet deal on a Top End Force 3 for only $600 (normally these cost $2,000 used and $6,000 new). Now he needs some funds to add electric assist.
Daniel’s uncle completed the RAGBRAI ride 25 times, but unfortunately passed away last year. Daniel wants to join the rest of his family this year for an epic ride in his uncle’s memory.
